Lucky 13
13, a number that many consider unlucky, but after a little research, I learned “in many cultures, 13 symbolizes growth, a signifier of positive change and good fortune, and represents balance and harmony”.

Apologies for not announcing this sooner. The winners of the quilts and teddy bears from “Giving Tuesday” back in December were Vicky O. from Mt. Gilead team, Joyce K. from our Marion team, and Melinda K. from the Lexington team.

April is National Volunteer month. Snuggled in Hope Quilts recognizes and honors you, for all your contributions to make a difference and for supporting our mission.

“I can’t imagine a day without quilting” Yes, that was “CR” as we came to call her. CR did not want an obituary published, nor a funeral or memorial service. Her wishes were granted. But we cannot let her passing go by without sharing a small amount of her accomplishments, successes and to acknowledge her part in the growth of Snuggled in Hope Quilts these past few years.

OLD MAN WINTER delivered some weather to us this month and we made the decision to cancel a couple of our events.

We always want you to be safe and warm. It has been great weather for cleaning, crafting, relaxing, and creating.

YES! YOU MADE IT POSSIBLE TO GIVE MORE IN 2024!

Another calendar year soon closes (as unbelievable as that may seem). Snuggled in Hope Quilts has had THE BEST year of giving ever, made possible all because of people who love to give and help.

On this Giving Tuesday, Snuggled in Hope Quilts is richly blessed with gifts from near and far. Over 300 people from 27 states support us with donations of supplies and completed items.

The phrase "our lives are scrappy" can refer to living a brave and full life, or to having a “scrappy spirit.”
A brave and full life:
Even when life feels ragged and worn down Having a scrappy spirit

A scrappy spirit: An aggressive and determined spirit or being feisty. it can also mean having the resolve to do the right thing, even when it's difficult, or being committed to making a difference.

We have reached another season change.

As much as we regret that summer has come to an end, I do enjoy the cooler (not cold!) temperatures - time to pull out the longer layers and comfort food recipes.

Later sunrises and earlier sunsets - aren’t they just beautiful and breathtaking at this time of the year?

I came across this on Facebook and wanted to share it with you; it feels like a common thread as our own mission statement.

"Volunteers provide new handmade quilts, pillowcases and other comfort items to children in need, covering them in warmth and hope.”

“WHAT MAKES A QUILTS SO SPECIAL?”

We get many questions asking why they have not seen their quilt/pillowcase on a bunk at Flying Horse Farms?

So… we decided to take you on a journey of what happens behind the scenes and what exactly the Snuggled Executive Officers/Board Members do!

We have dressed the beds for 2 summer camps and are now preparing for #3 at Flying Horse Farms in June.

We would love to take photos of every quilt on every bed, but when there are 80-90 beds for each camp session, we just can’t get photos of them all.

Please remember that Snuggled in Hope Quilts also donates to other child-related organizations, and we don’t have the opportunity for the show of quilts that we are able to provide from
Flying Horse Farms.

You know how good it feels when you have reached a goal, so do we!

We have reached the point in the year that goals for Snuggled in Hope Quilts are realized.

Those goals are our focus and motivator to get somewhere; making sure we have the sufficient number of quilts and pillowcases needed for the anticipated number of children who will attend Flying Horse Farms for summer camp season and fall family weekends and experience some magical healing
days and night

Remember to invite a Friend, a Relative, a Neighbor to attend any of our sessions!

We don't want Snuggled
to be a secret!

Just think of all the fun, laughter, fellowship, and great food they are missing out on!

The footwear collection for our fund raising is GROWING!

We will continue collecting until the end of April.

Snuggled in Hope Quilts will earn funds by the pound, not the pairs, with 100% of any money received from Funds2orgs going directly to purchase supplies for projects and other necessities.

Thanks to everyone who has stepped up (and out) of their shoes, boots, slippers, sandals, sneakers to collect and help us. Our goal is 100 bags.
